(the bird and the hanger are the alterations dies).

I created this bit of "art" for the Gingersnap Creations challenge GC47. The challenge was to use the colors Ginger, Copper or Rust. I went with some lovely Rusty Hinge distress ink on the bird, and the background is painted with tarnished brass distress crackle paint then inked with walnut stain...it was the closest "metallic" i had!

Enjoy!

Supplies: Chipboard - Maya Road; Stamps - Studio 490; Alterations Dies; Ink - Distress Ink in Black Soot, Rusty Hinge, Chipped Sapphire, Crushed Olive, Walnut Stain; Distress stickles in Walnut Stain and Rock Candy; Grungeboard, Grungepaper; Distress crackle paint in Tarnished Brass; Distress embossing Powder in Black Soot

I'm terrible at remembering to make or send out birthday cards; maybe having at least one in the card stash will help me remember in the future...or maybe save me at the last minute! I created this card for the Farm Fresh Friday (3-12) challenge. I used the Friday Sketchers #93 for sketch inspiration. I'm currently in LOVE with My MInd's Eye Home paper line...unfortunately I haven't found it in 12x12 size yet...but I have found the smaller glitter book and photo mats...so I've been using those for many of my cards this weekend! Enjoy!

Challenges:
Farm Fresh Friday - Birthday
Friday Sketchers - Sketch #93

sometimes when we play with paper and ink and stamps and all the gizmos and gadgets...we have to step back...and take ourselves out of our current "box"...it's been a LONG time since i played with the tools and pieces that really got me uber excited about stamping...my distress inks and funky stash of stuff. tonight i was sitting here thinking i need to do something "different"...so i went back to that which i felt really gave me some of my first recognition with stamping (what i consider recognition may not be the same definition others use...i call it when the gal that taught me about stamps said YOU ROCK! thanks T!) I LURVE me some yummy stamps (TGF, Verve) that allow me a chance to color with my copics...but lately I've noticed that's ALL i've done (or if feels like that's all I've done)...so tonight i pulled out a bunch of stamps recently procured that I haven't used yet...they all came from the Tim Holtz collection by Stampers Anonymous (sniff...still sad that the latest Wendy Vecchi stamps were not available at the Stamp Scrap Art Tour)...but I pulled the stamps out...started messing around...some embossing (woohooo...I'm not INHALING the embossing powder anymore....actually making it melt where it's supposed to!)...masked off some stuffs...then pulled out the handy dandy ink applicator...and some metal bits and bobs...and well...you can see then end result! I had so much fun creating this card! I'm feeling a bit rejuvenated in my card making...we'll see how long it lasts! LOL! ENJOY!

Supplies: Images and Sentiment - Tim Holtz Collection from Stampers Anonymous; Ink - Distress Inks by Ranger: Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap, Brushed Corduroy, Weathered Wood, Black Soot; Ranger Perfect Medium; Clear Embossing Powder by Stampendous; all metal bits idea-ology; pearls by Queen&Co; Cardstock - Bazzil , CTMH

Wasn't sure I was going to get it submitted in time, I was very UNHAPPY with it earlier tonight...I had all of my sizing skewed...this really should have been a 5x5 card...but I had it all set for a 6x6 card...so it was either run with it as is...or start from scratch...and i was not feeling the "start over" mojo today! LOL! I think it worked out in the end though...Enjoy!

Create something inspired by Dr. Seuss! I believe his birthday was just a few days ago...or is coming up...can't remember the official date. There are so many different ways to take on this challenge! This is probably one of the most simple LOs i've ever created...i didn't want to take anything away from the picture (it's just too darn CUTE!)...little girl Duchess just randomly climbed into the laundry hamper to take a nap...had to get a pic! The quote on the side is from the end of "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish." It seemed fitting!

Don't forget...the Shoe still has a lovely candy giveaway going on...not to mention my candy is still up for grabs! (Links on sidebar for all the current candy!)

Enjoy!
