embrace imperfection...or something like that!

morning all!  hope you are having a fabulous weekend!  had a great day of football yesterday...lots of good games, and the upsets were so much fun!  anyways...on to the reason for today's post.  i recently bought a 7gypsies binderie...and pulled it out this weekend to play.  it came with a cutie little book to get you started...and here is what the cover was as it came out of the package...

now i love the black and off-white...one of my favorite combos...but it just wasn't quite what i wanted...here is what i ended up with

i started by cutting a piece of grungepaper to the same size as the cover...used a tim holtz mask and distress ink to get the base done.  i then stamped the entire piece with a large background stamp, stamped a clock face on clear cardstock and then layered the clock with some idea-ology parts; finished it off with some metal book corners and a grunge flower.

oh snap! better mention the fact that this was created with the Simon Says Stamp and Show your metal challenge in mind!

Hope you have a fantastic Sunday!

Supplies: grungepaper; distress inks - broken china, brushed corduroy, peeled paint; tim holtz mask from timeworks set (idea-ology); game spinners, gear, paper clip and corners all from idea-ology; adirondack paint dabber in juniper; stamps - studio 490, embrace imperfection from tim holtz (stampers anonymous), CTMH - Make it count set (clock); ranger archival ink in black and coffee; distress stickles in peeled paint; clear cardstock by heartfelt creations; maya road kraft tag
